We have been working with Abtek for over 20 years, excepting a 2 year break. We couldn’t come back soon enough!
When we did switch to another provider, it was very impersonal. When we had to call them for anything, you never knew who you would get to speak with, and if you had to call them back for the same problem, you STILL couldn’t talk to a specific person, just which ever operator took the call.
I love the fact that when calling Abtek, you can speak to a specific person, who understands what you’re requesting from them. It’s very unusual for that person not to be able to help, but if they can’t, they will find someone who can, usually within the same call.
With our other processor, we had an instance of a chargeback, which we disputed twice and after that, it would have gone to arbitration. That was OK, however it would have cost us $150.00 for arbitration (no matter what) and if we lost, the amount of the chargeback plus “fees”. Even though we were pretty sure that we would have won, it was not worth the hassle for something under $1000.00. Who knows what their “fees” would have been if we “lost”?
On many occasions, we have borrowed terminals from Abtek to go to shows, like the Snowmobile Expo, the Motorcycle Expo and different boat shows. It has always been hassle-free and at no charge to us, other than the processing fees for the transactions. I would recommend Abtek for their personal service, their loaner service and their very friendly attitude.

Schoolcraft College has been working with the people at ABTEK since 2000. From the very beginning the services provided by ABTEK have been accurate, prompt and professional. The conversion was seamless. That was due to the excellent staff that is very helpful and willing any time there are questions or concerns. ABTEK was a valuable asset when the college purchased a new software program that included credit card payments for the Culinary Arts and Food Services departments. They worked very closely with the software company to ensure all the programming was correct. In 2003 the college expanded the partnership with ABTEK by purchasing a gift card program for campus use. We switched to ABTEK as of March 1, 2008 in an effort to improve the level of support provided to our two locations and they are delivering. I routinely use to get weekly complaints from store management stating that the support service line was a series of hold and wait, which caused our clients to wait. This issue has been eliminated since we partnered with ABTEK. The interchange plus pricing leaves little doubt on how we are being charged for their services. An added bonus is that our Controller noticed immediately that we were seeing our MC/Visa and American Express Card deposits earlier than with our previous providers. Our business success relies on building strong relationships with companies who understand the importance of providing exceptional service. I recommend ABTEK as a business partner.
